Privacy Policy — Soccer: News & Scores
Last updated: 2026-07-22
Welcome to the Privacy Policy of Soccer: News & Scores. This policy is designed to inform users about how we collect, use, and protect personal information within our mobile application available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your privacy is critically important to us, and we are committed to protecting it.
This SERVICE is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service. If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible at /legal/terms/soccer-news-scores unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name and your email address. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy. The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. The app does collect users' email addresses for the following purposes:
- Account creation and verification.
- Communication about app updates, news, and user feedback.
- Providing support and assistance for your use of the app.
Link to the privacy policy of third-party service providers used by the app:
- Apple
- Google Play Services
- Google / YouTube (see YouTube / video highlights below)
- Scorebat (match highlight embeds; see their terms and privacy materials on scorebat.com)
YouTube / video highlights
The Service may display official football video highlights and related clips using the YouTube API Services and the official YouTube embedded player, as well as other licensed highlight providers (such as Scorebat).
What this means
- When a YouTube video is loaded or played in the app, you interact with Google/YouTube systems. Google/YouTube may receive technical data such as your IP address, device and app identifiers, approximate location derived from IP, language/region settings, referrer/app identity required by YouTube for embedded playback, and information about playback (for example whether a video started, errors, or similar player events).
- YouTube may set or read cookies, local storage, or similar technologies on your device in connection with the embedded player, including for fraud prevention, measuring playback, personalizing the player experience, and (where applicable) advertising.
- We do not download, cache, or re-host YouTube audiovisual files. Playback uses the official YouTube embed only. We do not overlay or alter YouTube player controls or branding.
- We may store limited YouTube metadata needed to show the feed (for example video title, thumbnail URL, channel name, embed URL, duration, and region/availability flags). That metadata is refreshed or removed on a rolling basis consistent with YouTube’s developer policies.
Your consent
By accepting this Privacy Policy and the Terms during onboarding (or later in Settings), you acknowledge that the Service uses YouTube API Services / the YouTube embedded player for highlights, and you consent—where legally required—to:
- loading the official YouTube player in the app;
- the use of cookies or similar local storage by Google/YouTube in connection with that player; and
- the collection, sharing, and use of personal data by Google/YouTube as described in Google’s policies, including for ads personalization where applicable.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, this consent is intended to satisfy applicable cookie/privacy rules and Google’s EU User Consent Policy. You may withdraw consent later in the app settings (where offered) or by stopping use of video highlights / the Service. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already occurred.
If you do not consent, we will not load the YouTube embedded player for you; you may still use other parts of the Service, and highlight cards may show a thumbnail or be unavailable for in-app playback.
Required disclosures and links (YouTube API Services)
This app uses YouTube API Services. By using video highlights, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Please also review:
YouTube content remains subject to YouTube’s and the relevant rightsholders’ terms. We display YouTube attribution where required.
Children’s content
We aim not to surface YouTube videos designated as Made for Kids in the highlights experience. The Service itself is not directed to children under 13 (see Children's Privacy).
Log Data
We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These may be sent from websites or embedded players and stored on your device. This Service does not rely on first-party advertising cookies of its own. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries—including the YouTube embedded player and other video providers—that use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to provide playback, security, analytics, and (where applicable) advertising. Where required by law (including in the EEA/UK/Switzerland), we obtain your consent before loading such third-party players. You may refuse or withdraw that consent as described above; if you refuse, some video features may be unavailable.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our Service;
- To provide the Service on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services; or
- To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to Personal Information as needed to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose. In particular, Google/YouTube process data when you use embedded highlights, as described in the YouTube / video highlights section.
Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Links to Other Sites
This Service may contain links to other sites and may embed third-party players. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites and players are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites and services. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services, except as required by applicable law regarding joint controllers where an embed causes data to be shared.
Children's Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do the necessary actions.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. This policy is effective as of 2026-07-22.
